

On February 6, 2021, Philip Lee Warmbier passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 73. Philip was born on April 23, 1947 in Bay City, MI. He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the United States Army for the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. Philip married Ronda Sue Warmbier (Lewis) in 1966. They met on a blind date setup by Claudia Partlo (Whitman). Claudia and Alan Partlo have remained lifetime friends. They welcomed Philip Lee Warmbier Jr. in 1968 and Sabrina Sue Dore (Warmbier) in 1970. His hobbies early on in life included his small farm, fishing and hunting. In his later years, he enjoyed a round of golf with his many friends from Cypress Lakes in Lakeland FL. Most of all he enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren, as they would travel south to avoid the cold northern winters and visit the theme parks in Orlando FL. Philip is survived by his wife of 54 years Ronda Sue Warmbier (Lewis); his children, daughter Sabrina Sue Dore (Warmbier) and husband Dan Dore of Pataskala OH, son Philip Lee Warmbier Jr. and wife Wendy Warmbier of Lake Wylie SC; Grandchildren Logan Dore, Justin Dore, Hudson Dore of Pataskala, Ashley Call and husband Philip Call of Saginaw MI, Casey Adams and Rocky Adams of Gobels MI, Brianna Warmbier USAFB of Aviano joint AFB Italy, Sydney Warmbier of Lake Wylie SC and Hope Warmbier of Lake Wylie SC; and 4 great grandchildren; his siblings Gary Warmbier of Auburn MI, Gail Spyhalski (Warmbier) of Auburn MI and Michael and Sarah Warmbier (Dunbar) of Auburn MI. He was preceded in death by his parents Christoph and Margaret Warmbier (Whitman) of Auburn MI.
No memorial service or funeral is planned. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
