

Phyllis K. Frye, age 85, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Phyllis was born on May 12, 1931 to Zeb Vance and Hallie Vernon Blevins in Williamson, WV. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Paul Matthew Murphy, William LeMasters and Taulbee Joyce Frye; son, Daniel Matthew Murphy; siblings Elza R. Blevins, Elizabeth L.(Dexter) Stevens, Mark V. (Jackie) Blevins; survived by her children, Vicki E. Murphy, Paul Steven Murphy, and Vance Burgess Murphy; John Frye and Lynne (Geoffrey) Lieberman; 11 grandchildren, Meagan Nicole Bledsoe, Christopher Daniel (Terra) Bledsoe, Brittany Marie Murphy (Matthew) Parsonson, Vance Burgess (Kate) Murphy II, Moriah Susanne Murphy (Antonio) Kanterman, Elijah Luke Murphy, Emma Anne Murphy, Sarah Lieberman (Michael) Sokol, Samuel Lieberman, Codi Frye and Jacob Frye; 3 great grandchildren, Solomon Ryder Kanterman, Berkeley Harlow Kanterman, Colleen Jean Bledsoe; siblings, Alice R. (Milton) Meadows of Utica, OH and Mary Lou (David) Stevens of Anderson, IN; sister-in-law, Dora Blevins of Williamson, WV; friends, Lona Bowman, Michael English, Sherill Vaughn, Carol Moore and all her fan club friends. Phyllis attended East Williamson Grade School, Williamson High School, Pikeville College in Pikeville, KY and Columbus State Community College in Columbus, OH. Phyllis retired from Battelle Memorial Institute and Ohio Health at Doctors West and North Hospitals. She also worked for Miners Memorial Hospital in South Williamson, KY (Appalachian Regional Hospital) and VB Murphy Trucking LLC. Phyllis enjoyed needlework and reading. She joined fan clubs, loved country and western and gospel music. Phyllis had Facebook friends all over the world. She loved her family intensely. Phyllis would watch, WVU, Marshall University, and Ohio State University Football.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 where family will receive friends from 2-3 pm at the HOPE and HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W.
