Phyllis J. Meidl passed away peacefully on February 22, 2020. She was born on April 18, 1936, to Edward Kaufman and Nellie Kaufman (Ringstad) on their farm in Eland, Wisconsin as the youngest of 9 children. In 1953, Phyllis married Gary Meidl, to whom she would be married for 61 years. They would have 5 children, all of whom Phyllis adored. Raising her children was her passion, not working outside the home until they were all adults. She retired from her job as a curtain specialist after 10 years to begin caring for her grandchildren. Family was everything to Phyllis, especially all of her grandchildren, who were the true loves of her life. She and Gary were a large part of the Whitehall community, and will be greatly missed by so many. Phyllis is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gary; her parents; and her son, Gary Meidl Jr. Phyllis is survived by her brother, Pete Kaufman (Carlie); her children Paula Baker-Cahill (Rick), Mark Meidl (Stephanie), Michelle Carson, and Mitch Meidl (Angi); grandchildren Chelsea, Nick, Nate, Courtney (Jairo), Taryn, Emily, Lily, and MJ; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and special friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 28, 2020, from 5-7pm at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43232. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Phyllis' memory to Cancer Support Community Central Ohio, 1200 Old Henderson Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43220.
