Preston was a successful businessman in Central Ohio and operated a construction company specializing in the renovations of affordable housing. He was a graduate of “The” Ohio State University and an avid Buckeye fan. Preston rarely missed an opportunity to watch the Buckeye football team perform and most often followed the team to wherever they played. He also attended most all of both the men’s and women’s Buckeye basketball teams throughout their seasons.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Benton Theodore Ford and Frances Evangeline (Snoots) Ford. He is survived by two daughters, Darci Delacruz of Tamarac, Florida and Dana R. Armendariz (Raymond) of Saginaw, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Mackenzie Morgan, Malena Armendariz, Noah Armendariz, and Lauren Armendariz; 1 great grandchild, Maverick Luongo, along with many friends and business associates who will sadly miss him.
A Celebration of Preston’s Life will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2026 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road in Columbus, Ohio 43221. A Celebration of Life Reception will immediately follow from 4:00-7:00pm. Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Greenwood Cemetery, 1413 Greenwood Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
