Rae Ruth Gross, born on December 1, 1929 in Booneville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Lancaster, Ohio surrounded by loving family. She attended Indiana State Teacher’s College in 1947. She enjoyed family, photography, gardening, arts and music, cooking, sailing, and life in Key West. While she spent most of her life in Columbus, Ohio, she owned and operated Key West Aloe Cosmetics in the Ohio Center downtown. Mrs. Gross was the school librarian at East Linden Elementary. She was a docent at the Columbus Museum of Art, was a watercolor artist and, operated an art gallery in the short north. As a long term member of Broad Street Presbyterian Church she participated as a youth ministry teacher, sang in the choir, and volunteered in the Broad Street Food Pantry. Rae is greatly missed by all who knew her. Rae was preceded in death by her husband George W. Gross and her parents John and Claudius Jean Behagg. Survived by Son, Kelly (Robin, Alexandra) Gross, Daughter, Janet Gross, Son, Gordon (Dawn, Gregory) Gross.
Memorial Service will be held on December 13 at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205. Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Service at 7:00 PM.
