Ralph Charles Barber, 64, passed away peacefully on September 22nd, 2021, after a long battle against Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. His strength and determination were an inspiration to his many friends, colleagues, and family. Born on July 2, 1957, in San Francisco, California, Ralph attended Robert E. Lee High School and George Mason University. Ralph was a proud Eagle Scout and enjoyed a lifelong career in Information Technology. In 1988, Ralph met the love of his life, Holly McGovern Barber, in Georgetown, D.C. He was a proud and devoted father to his three beautiful children, Chas (28), Caroline (26), and Will (16). Their family lived in Alexandria, Virginia and Tampa, Florida, before relocating to Dublin, Ohio in 2014. Ralph loved playing golf, fly fishing, and spending time with friends and family. The mountains in Highlands, North Carolina or boating in Florida were among his favorite ways to spend time. Neighbors often spotted Ralph mowing his lawn in a starched button-down on Tambay Avenue. Most notably, he will be remembered for being a friend to all, his signature wit, and his many friendships that endured throughout the years. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Holly McGovern Barber, and children, Chas, Caroline, and Will. He was the loving son of Robert Dean Barber and the late Dorothy Nell Barber; sisters, Janet Norris (Joseph) and Nancy Daniels (Scott); brother Joseph Barber (Samantha); and in-laws Frank and Myra Ragano, and Richard McGovern and Patricia Rojas; brother-in-law Richard McGovern; and many nieces and nephews. A service will be held in Tampa, Florida on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Ralph Barber Memorial Fund: 6724 Perimeter Loop Road, P.O. Box 104, Dublin, OH 43017; Or Venmo @rcbmemorialfund.
