

Randall Lee Messer, age 73, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Aug. 26, 2025. He was born on Sept. 8, 1951 in Logan, WV to the late Leo and Anna (Litteral) Messer. Randall joins in death his parents and brother Charles Messer. He leaves behind his daughter Michelle Messer (Jona Caborn); siblings Judy (Tom) Vance, Larry (Frieda) Messer, Spike Stratton and Kay (Isom) Ooten. Randall grew up in Dingess, WV before moving to Columbus, Ohio. He was a proud veteran of the US Army who served in Korea as paramedic and ambulance driver. He was a huge car enthusiast who loved going to car shows and also loved western movies, horses, Elvis Presley and most of all potatoes. Randall would have some kind of potato with every meal he ate from breakfast to dinner and would get slightly irritated if there were no potatoes in the house. Visitation will be held on Friday September 5, 2025 from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at the Advantage by Schoedinger – Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204 where the funeral service will place at 1:30PM. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made in Randall’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
