Randy Joe Tharp

Randy J. Tharp, age 57, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born on December 17, 1960 in Zanesville, OH to Donald Blaine Tharp and Penny Lou (Watts) Tharp. He was the owner and operator of Randy's Automotive Machine Shop in Whitehall for the past 18 years. Randy enjoyed cars, motorcycles, go-kart and stock car racing as well as gardening. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Blaine Tharp. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Vivian (Richardson) Tharp; son, Randall Tharp; brother, Terry Tharp; mother, Penny Tharp; and step-mother, Rosie Tharp. Randy was also blessed to have numerous other family members, friends, and customers that he befriended over the years. Family will receive friends 4-8 pm Thursday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will begin 10 am Friday, August 10, 2018. Interment to follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
