Ray Morrow, devoted husband, loving father, and faithful friend died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 27, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, son, Keegan, daughter, Zoe, father-in-law, Frank Tosti and loyal dog, Tatum. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, James and Winona Morrow. He was a passionate artist, sculptor, and craftsman whose lust for life energized anyone who knew him. Ray was endlessly curious, infectiously humorous, and knowledgeable about many things. He worked as an exhibit engineer for COSI, and most recently at Roto, an exhibition design and production firm in Dublin, Ohio. Ray loved his Roto family and relished the opportunity to build interactive exhibits that brought science centers, children’s museums, aquariums, and zoos to life. He was revered by his co-workers and mentored many young designers and engineers. If you wanted something fixed or a problem solved, you went to Ray. Sometimes the line was long. But you always walked away learning something. In addition to his professional engineering work, Ray had a lifelong passion for woodworking, photography and nature. As a student of architecture and avid Frank Lloyd Wright fan, he designed his home and gardens with the grace of an artist. But that wasn’t all. He raced sports cars, authored short stories, and shared his passion for food every night when he turned out remarkable meals for his grateful family and friends. His humor, his wit, his spirit, and his enthusiasm will live forever in the hearts of all those privileged to know him. A reception will be held in Ray’s honor on Monday, December 12 at Brazenhead in Grandview (1027 Fifth Ave.) from 6-8pm. A celebratory tribute will take place at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ray Morrow to WCBE/NPR Fund, 540 Jack Gibbs Blvd, Columbus, OH 43215. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoedinger Midtown Chapel.
