Raymond M. Horgan Sr.

Raymond Michael Horgan Sr., 91, of Columbus (Hilliard) Ohio passed away after a lengthy cardiac illness 03/16/2023 at Ohio Dublin Methodist Hospital with his family present. He is survived by his devoted wife, Constance, son Raymond, Jr (Jeanne), daughters Christine Carter (Gaines) and Mary Deleone (Bob) along with grandchildren Jessica and Brandon Horgan, Kelly Carter, Evan, Isabella and Alexis Deleone. Raymond had a distinguished military career in the Marines. He served during the Korean War earning a Silver Star at the Battle of Inchon and a Purple Heart. He was honored with the distinction of being one of the Chosen Few. Raymond then went on to graduate from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York on the GI bill. He even found time to swim on the college’s swim team. He met the love of his life, Constance, in NYC and were married 66 years. His family, including his grandchildren, were his pride and joy. He retired from the United States Government Accounting Office after a long career as an auditor. Special thanks to Father Brown of St Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church for dispensing Last Rights and a Special Papal Dispensation in accordance with Raymond’s last wishes bringing great comfort to his wife and family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd., Columbus, Ohio, where family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until time of Mass Wednesday.
