

Raymond H. Wehner, 92, of Clintonville, passed away on June 22, 2016. He was born on July 2, 1923 to George J. and Rose (Nolan) Wehner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings George, Jr., Eugene and Miriam. Raymond served as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Force during WWII, where he served as a navigator on B17 Bombers. He also received his PhD in Theater from The Ohio State University. Raymond worked at Nationwide Insurance, and then went on to be the Head of the Theater Department at OSU in Newark. He was a member of St. Thomas More Newman Center, Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and the Players Club Theater. Raymond was an avid runner and loved staying physically fit. He was a voracious reader, enjoyed playing poker with his long-time friends, and was a huge supporter of all of the Cleveland sports teams. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years Margaret R. "Peggy" (Roberts) Wehner; his children Michael (Roxane) Wehner, Gail (Ned) McCoy, and Mark (Cathy) Wehner; nine grandchildren Nathan, Nicole, Nolan, Ben, Michael, Katherine, Spencer, Lauren and Rachel; and one great granddaughter, Hayley. A funeral service for Raymond will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, with Father Steve Bell officiating. His calling hours will be prior to the service from 10am to 12 noon. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
