Rebecca Sue Casey

Rebecca Sue Casey, 65, of Gambier, passed away unexpectedly at Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital on October 26, 2020. Becky was born February 12, 1955 in Columbus to the late Frederick and Betty (Pascal) Johnston, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Shannon Reilein; brother Frederick "Butch" Johnston III; and Curtis Engle, whom she considered a son. She is survived by daughter Kelly (Michael Borders) Casey; grandchildren Zoey, Nora, Ceila, LaBella, and Larry, Jr.; Paul Casey, the father of her children; Jim Fidler, having lived together for the past 25 years; sister Barbara (Don) Horn; brother Jonathan "Blaise" (Sharon) Johnston; son-in-law Larry Reilein; Janelle and Zachary Zoker, whom she considered children; best friend Vickie Sibley; new friend Tim Slone; as well as other nieces and nephews. A 1973 graduate of St. Francis DeSales, she went on to work as a RCMAC manager at Ohio Bell for 20 years. Subsequent to Ohio Bell, she spent some time as an office manager with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, finally working at and retiring from Qwest (CenturyLink) in February of 2020. When not working, Becky enjoyed sewing clothing, quilts, and even diapers for her grandchildren, who referred to her as "grammy". She also enjoyed cooking, crafting, and coloring on her iPad. Though she lived in Columbus until 1996, she then moved to Gambier and learned to love the country life where, although friendly with many friends, she could enjoy her alone time. The family invites those able to a visitation and funeral service from 1-4PM, service beginning at 4PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna on Sunday, November 1. 2020.
