

Rebecca L. Heimann, age 53, passed away at the Pickering House on Friday, September 16, 2011 after a courageous fight against breast cancer. She was born in Columbus on September 26, 1957. Rebecca worked for several years at United McGill. She was a member of the Church of Christ and also the Grove City Eastern Star Lodge #502. Rebecca loved to read, travel and enjoyed sports, but above all else she loved her family. She was selfless; always putting other’s needs ahead of her own. Rebecca was a loving and giving Mom, who left a wonderful legacy for her children and grandchildren. She was a “best friend” to all, and she will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She is preceded in death by her father, James Bennett. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Richard; children, Erin (Jason) Griggs, Brittney (Josh) Seymour, and Katie Heimann; grandchildren, Hayley, Savannah, Ava, Vivienne, and Skyler; mother, Thelma Bennett; siblings, Bill (Terri) Higgins, Karla (Tom) Smith, and Brad Bennett; and many nieces and nephews; and also her beloved, “Murph the Wonder Pup.” Friends may call from 5-8 pm, Monday, September 19, 2011at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL 5360 E. Livingston Ave. where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Pastor Matt Thomas officiating. A private family entombment will be held following the funeral service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
