Rebecca J. Tracy

Rebecca J. Tracy, age 91, her spirit left her earthly body on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at home with her family by her side. She was born August 7, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late John M. "Boots" and Luretta "Betty" (Kimbrough) Tracy. Rebecca was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School and retired as a bookkeeper following many years of service. She will be sorely missed by her family- son and daughter-in-law, Richard "Rex" and Patti McDermitt, of Hebron, OH; daughter Teri Flaningan, Columbus; three grandsons, Richard and Adam (Leigh Anne) McDermitt and Jonathan Flaningan; three adored great-grandchildren, Delaney, Keegan and Carrick and many beloved family members and friends. Besides her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Tracy. She was a faithful member of First Spiritualist Temple, developed her spiritual calling and taught several metaphysical classes. She was a voracious reader but spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were most important to her. Due to the COVID health restrictions, a private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with a public memorial service to be announced at a later date.
