Retha Teters

Retha Louise Teters, age 74, passed away peacefully at home Monday, January 31, 2022. She was born March 11, 1947, in Pennsville, OH to the late Fred and Irene Coler. Retha is survived by loving husband of 59 years, J. Roger Teters, daughter, Angela Louise Johnson; grandchildren; Bethany Teters, Hailie Johnson, Natalie Johnson, and Katie Johnson, and brother, Larry Coler, along with other dear family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, brother; Ronnie Coler. Retha attended Bliss College where she graduated and moved onto her career as a secretary. She was an active member in Guiding Hands Child Conservation League, Green tree Card Club, Volunteer at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, and Herbert Mills Glen Elementary and most recently an attendee at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church. She worked for 33 years as a secretary/ bookkeeper, working for the Ohio Department of Education, Williams, Deeg Ketcham, Obetz, Denmead; Cochran, Tsitouris & Gerrity, and Thompson, Swope, Burns & Biswas, and most recently Key Homes, before retiring to stay home and help her family and volunteer. Retha and her husband spend a lot of time together volunteering at the Central Ohio USO MEP Center. She was a bright presence in people's lives and will be missed deeply. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the USO Columbus Office, 4200 Hoover Rd, Grove City, OH, in memory of Retha. Family will receive friends Thursday, February 10th, 2022, from 2-4PM at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, with a funeral service at 4PM that will be live streamed.
