
A memorial service, to celebrate the life of Rexall “Rex” Moore, 74 of Newark, will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Reverend H. L. Holland officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Rex was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 2, 1935 to the late Harold and Martha (Powell) Moore. He passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center.
Rex graduated from Bell Gardens High School in California. He was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he attended and graduated from the University of Southern California with a PhD. in hotel management. He worked for his family many years as a chef at their restaurants. He opened a restaurant in Oregon and eventually moved back to Ohio. He loved helping others and enjoyed playing music for the resident’s in nursing homes. He enjoyed playing the keyboard, bingo, camping, fishing, cooking, baking, gardening and golfing. But most important in his life was spending time with his wife, family and friends. He was a devoted Husband.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Donna J. (Lynn) Moore, whom he married on June 29, 1973; Rex’s three children, Jennifer, Mark and Paul; one grandson, Luke; his pets, Max, Babe and Toby; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Rex to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
