Ricardo A. (Ric) Vitacolonna (Two-Dog) joined our Savior at 1 am on Jan. 20, 2011 in Edgewater, Florida at the Hospice Southeast Volusia Care Center, after a short battle with cancer. Ric was born on August 26, 1956 in Trenton, NJ to Lucille and Anthony Vitacolonna. In 1963 the family moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma where Ric grew up, received his education, and learned to play the drums. While performing in Cheyenne, Wyoming, he had the chance to meet with a band from Columbus, Ohio by the name of The Tiny Wellman Band, and began a long career of playing the drums for them. It was here in Columbus, that he met and married his soul mate, his “Bunky," Vicki (Potochina). His love of music carried him through many states and made it possible for him to meet nationally known country artists and bond with the many friends he met along the way. After returning back to his Oklahoma roots, he worked in various jobs and began playing drums for the Boothill Band. For a brief time Ric and Vicki took over his mother’s lounge business, "Lucille’s." He retired with his wife in 2010, to Florida to enjoy the sunshine while riding his Harley Davidson. He became a member of FOE #4242 in Edgewater, Florida and was a dual member of FOE #2801 in Millersport, Ohio. He leaves behind many friends & family and his faithful, trusting "T –bone," his cat. Survived by loving wife, Vicki of Florida, loving big brother, Michael (Val) Vitacolonna of Silverdale, Washington, step-sons Larry (Heather) Thompson of Hilliard, Ohio and Scott (Joyce) Thompson of Whitehall, Ohio, 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jan. 29th at lO am with best friend, Danny White, officiating. Internment at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany, Ohio. Thank You to the many doctors, nurses and hospitals in Florida and a special Thank-You to the nurses, can’s and chaplain of the Hospice Care Center for bonding with Ric and helping to make his journey home comfortable.
