

Richard Stephen “Dick” Buskirk, 79, of Circleville, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at Pickaway Manor. He was born September 17, 1932 in Circleville, the son of the late Mason and Berneice (Quincel) Van Buskirk. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Alice (Large) Buskirk; his parents; sister-and brother-in-law, Barbara and Edward Blum; and brothers, Bruce Michael and David Neil Van Buskirk. Dick is survived by his loving family: his wife of 48 years, Pamela (Teal) Buskirk; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Mosley and Vicky (Bruce) Cook of Circleville and Teresa (Chuck) Dailey of Athens; son, Richard S. (Kelly) Buskirk II; and sister, Luhrita (Herb) Sturgell of Circleville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and special canine companion, Missy. Dick graduated from Circleville High School in the class of 1950 and enjoyed attending his reunions. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and retired after 42 years as a maintenance man at General Electric. Dick truly enjoyed bowling, golf, square dancing and travel and loved attending activities with his grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 E. Mound St., Circleville with The Rev. Dr. Gerhard Kraus officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville.
