Richard Dee Butts

Richard Dee "Dick" Butts, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020. He was born May 25, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Earl and Josephine (Eyerman) Butts. Dick attended Thomas Aquinas High School and went directly into the Navy. He was proud of the time that he served on the U.S.S. Albany. He worked as a dispatcher for Signal Delivery Trucking Express for over 20 years. Dick had many talents that included woodworking and upholstering. He loved to play golf. Huge Notre Dame football fan. Longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gladys and sister, Mary Jo (Don) Betts. Dick is survived by his son, David (Lisa) Butts; grandchildren, Caitlyn (Tony) Ewing, Andrew Butts, Ryan Butts, and Michelle Butts; great-grandchildren, Brody and Tinsley Ewing; brothers, James (Diane) Butts, Donald (Valeria) Butts; Jerry (Rose) Butts; and many other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 2-5 PM at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway. Father Dan Millisor Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
