Richard T. (Dick) Day, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016. Born on St. Patrick's Day in 1937, Dick was so happy that the Irish Nation celebrated his birthday each year. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary (Hasbrook) Day and infant daughter, Melissa Sue Day. Survived by his beloved Sandy Bradshaw, who shared their lives for the past 30 years; cherished daughters, Catherine (Chris) Masters and Denice (Mark) Meadows; proud PAW to grandchildren, Anna (Nathan) Brummel, Collin (Kristi) Masters, Eric and Kurt Meadows and Cody (Colleen) Masters; special G-PAW to great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke and Graham Brummel and Piper and Finn Masters; siblings, Ron (Joyce) Day, Diane (Dave) Pritchard, Jeffrey (Mary Beth) Day and Debra (Chris) Bodish; and Sandy's son Eric Bradshaw. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins (the Hasbrook clan) and many friends. Dick graduated from Aquinas High School in 1955. He was in industrial sales for 37 years rising to Regional President with DoALL Industrial Supply. In his youth, Dick's father called him his "funny boy" and throughout his life, he continued the humor with his great wit and antics. "Dick Day" stories will surface for years to come. Always will be loved and never to be forgotten. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 pm Monday, July 11, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, where Rosary Service will be held 7:30 pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2777 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43209, with Fr. David Schalk, Celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions in Dick's memory may be made to Mt. Carmel School of Nursing, 127 Davis Avenue, Columbus, OH 43222.
