

Richard (Dick) Lee Wiseman, age 76, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at Dublin Methodist Hospital in Dublin, Ohio. He was born May 31, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Catherine (Malo) and Carl Wiseman and his oldest brother Philip Wiseman.
Dick graduated from Mansfield Technical Institute Associates of Metallurgical Engineering, with that degree he later used his knowledge of different types of metals and the effects that rust does to them when he started his company years later. Dick had several careers throughout his life. While he was working for Dick Au in Mansfield, Ohio, he decided to purchase the Columbus location from Dick Au and started "Wiseman Rust Proofing" just outside Grandview Heights and relocated his family to Grandview Heights in 1976. Two decades later after opening the business and one relocation of the company to a new location in 1986 a long and hard decision to close the business. One of his passions in life was playing golf and enjoying his Monday golf league, so it was a perfect fit when he started to work for the Scioto Country Club as the head caddy master. After leaving Scioto CC, he went to The New Albany Country Club as their Starter. He also worked for the Rugged Boot, a Redwing boot store, and years later he worked for Discount Furniture Outlet but in 2012 he had his first heart attack. He was a member and the President of Kiwanis Club, University District, Boy Scouts of America Blockhouse Troop 6 and an Eagle Scout.
Dick is survived by his wife and highschool sweetheart of 55 years Judi Wiseman of Columbus, OH; two son's Bryan Wiseman and Jeff Wiseman (Christina Providence) of Columbus, OH; Catherine (Carey) Aikman of Seattle, WA; and one grandson, Felix Copeland.
Family will receive friends from 1-4 P.M. Sunday, April 7, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where a memorial service will be held at 6 P.M. Tuesday, April 9, 2024.
