Richard J. Donaldson, 93, of Worthington died on February 18, 2018 at Friendship Village of Columbus. He was the son of the late Walter and Eva (Gray) Donaldson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by daughter Debra Noland; brother Rob Donaldson; and sisters Leah Wolford, Mildred Simon, and Ellen Fike.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years Dorothy (Stewart) Donaldson; daughters Diann (Tom) Rankin of Columbus and Denise (Alan) Hawkins of Marietta, GA; son-in-law Tom Noland of Columbus; grandchildren Dennis, John, and Eric Hawkins; Jennifer (Garrett) Adler; and Jacob Noland; great grandchildren Brynleigh and Corbin Adler; and sister Ruth (Ron) Fike.
Richard served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, graduated from The Ohio State University, worked in the container packaging business ultimately owning his own company, Donco Industries. He was active in the Indianola Presbyterian Church, a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church, and was a 33rd Degree Mason in the Goodale Lodge #372.
The funeral service for Richard will be held at 2pm Friday, February 23, 2018 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street with Reverend John Girard officiating. Masonic and Military Honors will be performed. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
