Richard Thomas Dyer

Richard Thomas Dyer, age 80, passed on January 10, 2010 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born December 27, 1929 on his grandparent’s farm at Resaca, Madison County, Ohio to the late Florence E. and Thomas H. Dyer. Richard retired from the Directorate of Procurement and Production, DSCC (DCSC), in December 1989. He was a member of York Lodge 563; A.A. Scottish Rite; Aladdin Shrine of Columbus; Columbus Museum of Art; Ohio Historical Society; Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonel; National Cathedral Association; subscriber to ProMusica Chamber Orchestra; member of North American Vexillological Association; The Canadian Flag Association; and the United Kingdom Flag Institute. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne P. Dyer. He is survived by his daughter, Debra K. Dyer and granddaughter, Alexis Joanna Dyer. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 333 South Drexel Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.
