

Richard David Eddy, age 82, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Richard was born February 4, 1932 in Port Hope, MI to the late Alfred and Mary Ruth (Bedford) Eddy; also preceded in death by several siblings. He graduated from Port Huron High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Panama Canal, worked for North American Rockwell and retired from Ranco. Richard was a member of Maize Manor United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where he participated in United Methodist Men and Sunday school classes, where he served as a facilitator. He was very active in Boy Scouts and enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joyce; children, Cheryl Lynn Eddy, Lorie Sue (Robert) Castle, David Bryan (Laura) Eddy, Regina Gail (Todd) Stewart and Shawn Lyle Eddy; grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Daniel, Colleen, Brenna, Matthew and Gregory; great-grandchildren Sophia and Lucas; stepchildren Debbie (Don) Mohler and Ruth (Roy) Roberts; step-grandchildren Donald, Joshua, Natasha, Brad and Kasey; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will welcome friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229. Memorial Service 11am Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Maize Manor United Methodist Church, 3901 Maize Rd., Columbus, OH 43224; Pastor David Hood, officiating. Graveside service 2pm Wednesday at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43123.
