Richard A. Heskett

Richard A. Heskett, age 73 of Gahanna, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011. Richard was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Frank and Dorothy Heskett. U.S. Navy Veteran. Richard worked many years as a commercial plumber for Speers Mechanical and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #189. Following his retirement, he worked as a starter and golf ranger for Kyber Run Golf Course. Richard was a man who had a tough exterior but the gentlest of hearts. He was a big sports enthusiast and loved any sport that had a ball with it. He also greatly enjoyed the outdoors spending time watching birds, reading, and following fantasy sports. But most of all, Richard found joy in his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Roberta Heskett; children, Rich (Kathy Morris) Heskett and Mary (Doug) Swayne; granddaughters, Kimberly, Stephanie, and Amber Swayne; sister, Priscilla Vance; niece, Cindy (Craig) Sliger; faithful companion, Ginger; and many other dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2011 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Sunday.
