Lit a candle in memory of Richard Masheter

I am so sorry to just read about this. My dad was the first salesman that started with Mr. Masheter in 1967 and worked there until October 2002. Mr. Masheter told me a story when he bought the dealership and went down there to find my dad sitting on a crate answering the telephone on the switchboard. My dad loved working for Mr. Masheter and selling cars. I worked there twice and my first job while in high school. I always had a lot of respect for Mr. Masheter as you can tell by my reference to him, I always called him Mr.Masheter. My deepest sympathy goes out to Bob and the entire family, I just don’t know what more to say, he’ll surely be missed by all. Great knowing him.

Dick and my dad were great friends. They did business together and had great times together. In the 60 s I went to the farm and road go carts on there track. A truly great man. Gregg greathouse and family.   God bless

Bob & Betty, you have my deepest condolences. Though I did not know your father, I knew of him through his children, especially Bob. His kindness was on display through the both of you. 

My best memory of your father was the graduation party he sponsored for Bob and his classmates. Though I transferred to another school a year earlier, I recall Bob telling me that his father wanted me to know that I was invited. I may not have mentioned it then, but I was sincerely appreciative. 

The BLYC was alive with that evening with laughter and smiles. Then, the starlight ride on the paddle wheeler capped it off. It was the last time our graduating class would be all together. I am sincerely grateful to your father for this lasting memory.

Thought the times may have been few, I always enjoyed Dick sharing with Bob his experience in running a Ford dealership. Dick was the most kind and generous person I had the pleasure of knowing.  He always called me "young'un".  I will miss spending time with him at the farm.  I will never forget him.  My deepest sympathy.  Mike Ryan

I left the Army in August '71 and the first thing I had to do was get a car. My father took me to Masheter Ford, where I found a nice used Ford Galaxy 500. A day or two after taking it off the lot, I returned as the window handle kept falling off and the exhaust was loud. His team took care of the handle and they sent me to a muffler shop to have the exhaust repaired.  Going back to my original visit, I started looking at cars as my father talked to a sales rep.  Little did my father know, he was talking with Dick Masheter.  For decades, I've always referred to him as "My friend, Dick Masheter".. Thank you Dick and rest in peace.
