Richard Dale Meeks

Richard Dale Meeks, age 87, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at Altercare of Canal Winchester. Richard was born in Canton, Ohio on September 5, 1924, the son of Faye (Riebenstein) and Charles Meeks. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving four years in the Pacific Theatre and a graduate of The Ohio State University Commerce College. Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by sisters Anna Blanche Nolan and Betty McFarland. He is survived by his wife Betty Meeks; his daughter Cynthia Meeks Puckett and husband Steven; his brothers Robert Meeks and Donald Meeks and his wife Peggy; special niece Diane Jacob and husband Scott and several other nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Ohioana Library Assn., 274 E. First St., Suite 300, Columbus, OH 43201.
