Richard Ray Mettler

Richard "Dick" Mettler age 83, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Hazel (Bickel) Mettler; sister, Linda Mettler, brothers, Tom and Larry; daughter, Sandra Carter. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Fuller) of 63 years; sister, Juanita (Robert) Brown; brother, Melvin; children, Debra (Mike) Burton, Mark Mettler, Colleen (Steve) Moore; son-in-law, Larry Carter, Sr.; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a hard working Mason and home renovator, loved the outdoors, especially fishing and later in life tending to his vegetable garden, always good with his hands in woodworking or just tinkering with things in his shed, life time member of Am Vets Post #89. Dick was honorably discharged after 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Family will receive friends Sunday, December 14, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 North High Street., where his funeral service will be at 2p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014.
