He passed away May 31, 2026 at his home. He was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth Miller.
We celebrate the life of Richard Miller, a devoted husband, loving stepfather, faithful Christian, and dedicated public servant whose presence brought comfort, stability, and love to those around him.
For 44 years, he shared a loving marriage with his wife, Frances Miller(Little girl). Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys. He was a proud stepfather to two stepsons providing for his family was his most important thing and treasured the time spent with his family at home.
Richard dedicated many years of service to his community, retiring after 30 years with the Franklin County Courthouse and later retiring after 4 years with the Department of Agriculture. His strong work ethic and commitment to serving others earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
One of his proud accomplishments was earning his driver's license at the age of 51, demonstrating that determination and perseverance can accomplish anything.
He enjoyed traveling and making memories with his family during vacations to Las Vegas, Nevada; Port Clinton and Toledo, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Orlando, Florida; and Hershey, Pennsylvania.
A devoted fan of Ohio State Buckeye football and basketball. Richard enjoyed cheering on his favorite team each season. He also loved collecting coins and stamps, reading the Bible, and spending peaceful evenings at home.
Many of his fondest moments were spent with family watching Cops, American Pickers, old westerns, and the local news. Spending time with his grandchildren was very precious to him. His love for his grandchildren was the same as the love if not more for his stepsons. His love for family, faith, and home was evident in everything he did.
Richard will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he created and the values he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. After each birthday he would say wait until you get to be the age he was. Example “Wait until you get to be 91”. Wait until you get to be my age.
