Richard A. Raines

RAINES Richard Allen, age 73, was born January 5, 1938 in Chillicothe, OH, to the late Charles and Margarite Raines. He departed this life on Monday, February 7, 2011, in Pataskala, OH at home, surrounded by his loving family. A U.S. Navy Veteran, preceded in death by his son Richard Jr., a sister, Sandra and brother, David. Survived by wife and love of his life, Saundra (Eblin) of Pataskala, Ohio (formerly of Chillicothe), daughters, Jan Free (Mike) and Candy Engel (Fred) of Hilliard, Ohio, Lokie Pontious (Tim) of Pataskala, Ohio, Tamara Hoops (Brian) of Chillicothe, Ohio; son David Curtis (Debbie) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and brother Charles (Junior), of Circleville, Ohio; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends and his dog Buddy. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed. Thanks to the staff of Mt. Carmel East, both the ER and the 3rd floor staff. Also, thanks to the loving care that Odyssey Hospice staff provided in his last moments. A Celebration of Life service at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011, Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church 1636 Graham Rd. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, Pastor Jack Norman, Officiating. At Richard’s request he was cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Odyssey Hospice.
