Rickey Allen Long, age 70, passed away on March 25, 2026. Born October 20, 1955, Rickey was a hard-working, honest, and loyal man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rickey joins in death his parents Francis W. and Annabelle (Wheeler) Long and brother Herbert Hall. He leaves behind his life partner Patty Long; children Julie (Chad) Thompson, Jenny (Michael) Libby and David Kirk; grandchildren Colton Hicks, Austin Stormont, Breonna Schofield and Annabella Libby; siblings Sharon Sprouse and Charlene Salmans. Rickey loved fishing, bird watching, feeding the squirrels, and antiquing—simple pleasures that reflected a steady appreciation for the outdoors and the quiet joys of everyday life. He also loved spending time with his family. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Advantage by Schoedinger - Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rickey’s name to the VFW Post 4044, 2801 Eakin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43204.
