Rita Jean Park

Rita was born on November 2, 1942 in Marion, Ohio to the late Charles Griffith and Vivian Griffith (Schmelzer). In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce A. Miller and brother, Michael Griffith.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Rita will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Rita graduated in 1960 from Pleasant High School in Marion, went to work in a doctor's office, married, moved to Circleville and then Toledo. She bore two sons before settling back in Marion. After divorcing she moved her family to Worthington, Ohio and raised her children whom she loved unconditionally. Her sense of humor and generosity was legendary. She remarried at age 46 and embraced her new life enjoying traveling, gardening, cooking and sewing but more than anything else, her family. When her granddaughters arrived they became her world.

Rita is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Roger W. Park, M.D., sons, Dane E. Nelson (Fred), Jeffrey E. Nelson (Sharon), granddaughters Dallasondra Nelson and Jessa Nelson.
