

Robert H. Aiken, 75, of Columbus, died Monday, May 2, 2011. He was born May 3, 1935 in Allentown, PA and grew up in Columbus. He worked for NORSE Dairy as a mechanical engineer for 33 years, retiring in 2003. Bob married Linda in 1974. He formerly attended Karl Rd. Baptist church, was an avid bowler at Amos Lanes, and loved to fish and go out to eat. He and Linda enjoyed vacationing and spent many weekends playing cards with Bob’s brother Gup and his wife. Bob liked to watch baseball, football, and recently, golf. He was an independent and organized man who will be remembered for his gentleness. Preceded in death by his parents James Aiken and Betty Winkleman. Bob will be missed by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda; son, Randy J. Aiken; step-daughter, Tammy S. (Frank) White; grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua White, Missy Adams, and Kayla and Tyler Aiken; great-grandchildren, Frankie and Aleya White and Logan Adams; brother, James “Gup” Aiken; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
