

Robert Carl Amos, 91, departed peacefully this life Tuesday, January 6, 2015, in Cedar Hills, Utah. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on December 13, 1923 to the late Lyle Irvin Amos, Sr. and Trecy Ellen Snyder Amos. He graduated from Rio Grande College. Robert grew up in Springfield, Ohio before coming to Grove City where he and his wife lived for over 50 years. Veteran of WWII where he served in the European Theatre. Robert taught school in Scioto Co. and Columbus Public Schools.
Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Elta Gay Brown Amos; brother, Lyle I. Amos Jr and sister, Betty Jean Amos Husted. He is survived by his three daughters, Bobbie Gay (Kelvin) Miller, Vicki Lane (Richard) Murray both of Cedar Hills, Utah and Linda Ann Amos of Tacoma Washington; a great nephew they raised, Arthur Philip Birchum of Ogden, Utah; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Ann Amos Stradling; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 2400 Red Rock Blvd., Grove City, Ohio, where a visitation will be held prior from 9-10:00 a.m. Interment in Brown Family Cemetery, 2 1/2 miles north of Minford, Scioto County, Ohio, 1:30 p.m. Arrangements with SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, Grove City, Ohio.
