

Robert D. "Bob" Baker, age 85, passed Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Bob was born in Cambridge, Ohio on December 20, 1929 to the late William and Hazel (Dixon) Baker. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Navy. Bob retired after 33.1 years as Sergeant in plant security at General Motors, where he served many years with distinction. He was a member of the American Legion Post #323 St. Mary's, Ohio and Moose Lodge #11 of Columbus. Bob's best friend was his dog Angie. She could do no wrong. She has since passed, but was always included in everything he did. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bettylou Baker; son-in-law, Jack Miles Ranney; sisters, Mary Berry and Evelyn Overdorff. Survived by his children, Robert (Cindy) Baker and Joy Ranney; grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Breen, Elizabeth (Robert) Dailey, Tessa Baker (Ryan Webb), Robert Baker and Darla Koehler; great grandchildren, Emma, Maddie, Logan, Nathan, Luke, Sullivan, and Declan; brother-in-law, John Overdorff; many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Edith Elmore, Pete and Marilyn Burke, Linda Dean, and the Grand Lake St. Mary's gang where he spent so many fun filled summers on the lake. Bob will be remembered by all as a man who loved a good Margarita with his friends and neighbors. Family will receive friends from 3-6:00 pm on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm.
