

Robert “Bob” Dotson was born on September 23, 1924 in Parkersburg West Virginia to the late Rev. Harley and Delma Dotson. He grew up in Tuppers Plains, OH and graduated from Olive Orange High School class of ’42. After high school, he entered into the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WWII. On June 29, 1945 he married his high school sweet heart and the love of his life Miss Mildred Campbell. They celebrated over 65years together be for his passing.
Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father, but his greatest legacy was his relationship with his Lord Jesus Christ. He came to know the Lord at an early age and faithfully served him all his life. Bob and Mildred have been faithful and active members of the Groveport Church of Christ for over the past 15 years.
Bob was an avid golfer and sports fan and enjoyed watching his Buckeyes, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his wife and family.
Bob touched many lives during his career, and the time that he spent at church; and those lives have been enriched by him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister Alice.
His survivors include his wife Mildred; sons, Bob (Sharon) Dotson of Columbus, Dennis (Jackie) Dotson of Johnstown; grandchildren, Wendy (Scott)Richards, Lyle (Toni) Dotson, Lana (Gared) Beddoes, Kari (Derek) Childs; great grand children, Caleb Beddoes, Addison Dotson, Reese Beddoes, Katelynn Barron, and Colton Barron. Bob is also survived by his sister Dortha Shears and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving friends at the Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. on Monday 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be held on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at the Groveport Church of Christ, 5626 Groveport Rd., Groveport, OH, at 10:30am, with Pastor David Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at the Galloway Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
