I met and became acquainted with Bob during my year as Rotary District Governor in 2013. He was very delightful and of great assistance to me when I visited his Jekyll Island Club. I have just learned of his passing and am deeply saddened. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am sorry for the loss of your dear Bob. I know the pain you're feeling must at times seem unbearable, please remember that you are not alone. Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Pray to him for strength, weep to him when there are no words, listen to what one of the poets of the Bible said at Psalm 56:8, " You keep track of my wandering. Do collect my tears in your skin bottle." So you see, God understands your pain and he cares for you deeply, 
( 1 Peter 5:7) and he will really help you get through this difficult time. (Isaiah 41:10)

Anna and Family, I was sadden to learn of Bob's passing, I am a retired State Auto employee from  the SC office. He was a great leader and CEO for State Auto. If you are lucky to be a State Auto agent, you have lost a dear friend & supporter. Bob was most energenic in support of the "agency system" of distribution. In my 40 years, I have only encountered 2 company people with such a commitment to us - Bob and his counterpart - Mr. Bob Bailey. The insurance industry has lost a true friend. 
We only met a few times, but he and Anna were always most gracious. This side of heaven has lost a good man. Anna and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was happenstance that Bob Moone and I became partners, as it was the accidental result of Sister Josella seating us in alphabetical order in the first grade.  Little did I know then, that we would become entwined and the best of friends during the sophomore year of high school.   Bob and I enjoyed the adventure and action as we shared the comings and goings of high school life.
Upon graduation Bob encouraged me to attend college and our friendship continued to flourish at OSU.  Later, we were in each others weddings and as couples we shared the honor of being godparents for each other.  
As our families grew and our jobs developed we always found event or vacation time to spend together.  And, over the years, to this I have developed so many memories, ------ so many memories that when I think of vacation or  holidays I think of Bob, Anna, our mutual friends and all of our families together.  
    All the words of praise for Bob given here, by others, are certainly well deserved.  He was, in every sense of the word, a GENTLEMAN - - -  a gentle man.

The first night was a formal affair, and without our fancy clothes, we were embarrassed to attend.  Bob Moone literally took us under his wing and made us feel comfortable in our travel clothes. I have so many great memories of Bob I can't name them all.  He was not only a great CEO at State Auto but he was also my friend.  He never thought twice about sitting down at our table to have lunch with us.  I remember early on when I met him, always calling him "Mr. Moone" (as my mother taught me) and after a few times he finally said "Jackie, please it's just Bob".  He was a member of our Toastmasters group at State Auto and we loved when he was able to join us for meetings.  He was a very kind, gentle man.  He will be missed by so many!  We loved him very much.  Prayers and blessing to his family.  It was great to see him in October, our last meeting, and it was as if we'd just seen each other the day before. Bob was my manager when I started at State Auto many, many years ago. He was the nicest and kindest man, a real pleasure to work for. He will be truly missed by many. May he rest in peace.

I remember when Anna got sick we were about 3/4 finished with the Jekyll home and Bob called me, told me about Anna and said they had to go back home. I offered to help anyway I could and he told me what plans he had made and that he trusted me to just finish the job the way Anna wanted it done. He had such faith that His God was going to restore Anna that it inspired me. She did recover and was soon enjoying the home. Bob was so calm and in control. I was nervous about being left to make decisions and he calmly said " Lewis, we hired you because we trust you. Just do what you are good at" I could not believe how he handled that situation so well with Anna being so sick. Bob, you were my friend and certainly "One of the Good guys" I will never forget you and Anna I am here for you always. I care.......

On a State Auto trip to England, Bob made the whole dinner table at ease as he showed us how to tell which glass was ours!  I have never forgotten the kindness and  laughter of this sweet man!  You will live forever in our hearts!

To the Family and friends of Robert Moone, I want to extend my deepest and heart felt Sympathy at this sad time. I had the pleasure of being around Bob when working at State Auto and Bob was always one of "us" and as they say: "One of the good guy's".

I know that at these times there is nothing anyone can say that will make things better. Just know that there are a lot of people out here that will have you all on our minds and will miss Bob very much.

Bob was a great person.  I remember once at State Auto there was sickness in my family and the health insurance was giving me a fit over it, but Mr. Moone stepped in and took care of the situation .  I have always remembered that about him and his kindness.  My prayers to the family.

In addition to his singing in the Columbus Swiss, where I am also a member, he was a Toastmaster, whose work on my guidance committee enabled me to complete the high-performance leadership project for my Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award. I picked one of the most difficult things a Toastmaster could do -- chair a district conference -- but Bob's advice and leadership helped me run it successfully.

Years ago Moone sent me a greeting card.  I clipped a section of the card, and have kept it all these years, which said the following:

"Two things upon this changing earth 
  Can neither change nor end.

 The love of friend for friend."

He made his family proud.  He made us happy.  He will be missed by all.
