Robert I. Sturgill

Robert I. Sturgill, 85, of Whitehall, OH went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2015. Member of Eastpointe Christian Church, Columbus, OH. He retired in 1989 from the Ohio National Guard, after 31 years of service. Bob was a life member of the Retired Officers Association (CW4), Life member of the National Guard Association of the United States, and a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Bob will always be remembered as a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean. Survived by son, David (Cathy); granddaughters, Amy (Andrew) Payne, Kimberly, and Emily (Aaron) Grassel; great-grandchildren Josiah, Alivia, Caleb Payne and Hayden Grassel (due January 2016); brother Al (Annie) Sturgill, and sisters Virginia Cruther and Anne Watts.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, October 23, 2015 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 22, 2015.
