

Robert T. Taggart, age 84, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born on September 17, 1933 in Grandview, Ohio to the late C. Frederick and Martha Mary (Trimble) Taggart. Bob graduated from Grandview High School and attended The Ohio State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He began his career selling advertising at the Columbus Citizen Journal and then as a loan originator for Toledo Home Mortgages. He then transitioned into real estate development, with several successful firms including, Robert T. Taggart Company, Yoakam Deagle Taggart and Taggart Marryott Reardon. In 2017, Bob retired from Taggart Management and Real Estate Services. Some of his most notable developments include Mill Run and Freeway Business Park. Bob was one of the first members of SIOR, served on the Columbus Board of Zoning, and enjoyed mentoring many future real estate professionals. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid golfer and longtime member of Worthington Hills Country Club, Imperial Golf Club in Naples, FL and CIC at Lake Erie. He also enjoyed spending winters in Naples, Florida and summer weekends boating at Lake Erie. As a young man Bob served in the Ohio National Guard's Army Band where he played the saxophone. Bob was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of Saint Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty; brother, Fred Taggart; and sister, Mary Ellen Hubbell. He will be greatly missed by his children, Mark (Suzanne) Taggart, Mary (Jeff) Tarrier and Jason (Barbara) Taggart; grandchildren, Beau, Kathleen, Emily, Abby, Lily, Brendan and Quinn; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-5 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Saint Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
