Roger Eli Carter, age 74, of Groveport passed away suddenly Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at his residence. Roger was born on September 19, 1948 in Glenalum, WV and was a long distance truck driver. He enjoyed round track racing, watching NASCAR races and meals at Waffle House with his grandchildren. He was a hard- working man who was always there for his family who he loved very much. Roger is preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Carter and brother, Nick Carter; and grandchildren Ashley Stevens and David Carter. He is survived by his longtime companion Evelyn Carter; children Gary Carter, David Carter, Tammy Carter Woods, Chris Carter, Vicki Brodek, Cheri Welch, and John Brodek; brother Daniel Gibson; sisters Jackie (Jack) Folk and Faye Broyles; grandchildren Angel, Courtney, Dava, Casey, Cierra, Cody, Christopher, Aaron, and Zach; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 4-6 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
