

Roger Owens Reeves, 88, of Columbus, passed on September 1, 2014 at home with family by his side. He was born on October 17, 1925 in Xenia, Ohio to the late Marion J. Reeves and Florence A. (Owens) Reeves. A veteran of World War II, Roger served in the U.S. Navy throughout the Pacific Theater to include the Battle of Okinawa. He was a journeyman tool and die maker retiring from Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) in 1985 after 25 years of employment. Roger enjoyed playing golf, camping, vacationing at the ocean and spending time with his family; especially, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue D. (Wilson) Reeves; daughter, Sherry (Jack) McCord of Columbus; son, Rob (Sonja) Reeves of Palmer, AK; daughter, Linda (Tim) Jordan of Pickerington; and daughter, Becky (Mark) Jones of Savannah, GA. He had ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Jahn, Amanda (Taylor) LaCass, Abby Probst; Nick, Jack and Nathan Reeves; Kyle and Karrie Jordan; and Owen and Alex Jones. Roger also had two great-grandchildren, Emma Jahn and Carter Wallace. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Betty, Jean, and Barb. He is survived by three brothers; Keith, Richard, and Ronnie. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where family will receive friends from 11am until time of service. Roger's brother, Keith Reeves, will conduct the service.
