Ronald "Ron" Dent Brown

Ronald “Ron” Dent Brown, age 90, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Grace (Wood) Brown. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sons, Ty Kinder and Todd Brown.

Ron was a longtime member of Burgess Ave United Methodist Church, where he and his family attended. He served as an usher and on many committees. The church later merged with Crossroads United Methodist Church on S. Hague Avenue, where he also attended.

Ron was active in the Boy Scouts, acting as a liaison between the church and the scouting activities when Ty and Todd were involved.

Ron very much enjoyed visiting and staying at Lake Hope State Park. We had family reunions and a very memorable Halloween weekend there.

Ron liked to watch basketball and baseball on TV and was very much an avid OSU Buckeye fan.

Ron will be greatly missed by his daughter, Julie Cooperrider, stepdaughter, Jody Haag, and grandchildren, Kasey Mere, Lindsey Richardson, Luke and Justion Cooperrider, Troy, Ty, Evan Brown, and Paige and Cameron Wellman. Ron has 17 grand and great grandchildren, all whom he is immensely proud of. His extended family had a Thanksgiving tradition lasting over 100 years.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on December 15th, at Schoedinger Northwest (1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221), where family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of service.

Private burial to be held at Sunset Cemetery.
