Ronald Dale Ishmael

Ronald Dale Ishmael, 77, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away peacefully at home into God's loving care Saturday, September 15, 2018. His wife of 57 years, Shirley Beem-Ishmael and family were by his side. He was born August 5, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to Orville and Dovie (Everman) Ishmael. In addition to his parents, he is rejoicing being reunited with those who went before him, his daughter, Connie Hansgen; brother Terry Ishmael and sister Norma Jean Zeller. Family left to cherish his memory includes his devoted wife Shirley; children Tammie (Joe) Evans-Schremser and Ron (Lisa) Ishmael; son-in-law Keith Hansgen; grandchildren Adam (Heather) Evans, Andy Evans, Amanda (Adam) Dudley, Keith "AJ" Hansgen, Destiny Ishmael and Karalena Ishmael; great-grandchildren Colton and Grace Ann Dudley; his Brehl cousins and many extended family members who were important in his life. Ron graduated from Gahanna-Lincoln High School, class of 1959, retired from a 40 year career with Western Electric/ ATandT/ Lucent and was a faithful member of Shepherd Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of Sunrise Lodge, FandAM. He loved being involved in his children and grandchildren's lives and was a constant encouragement to them and their faith. In his retirement he enjoyed canoeing, traveling, and his motorcycle. A special thank you to Ohio Health Hospice and Ron's amazing caregiver, Richard Byrd. Family will welcome friends 2-4 and 6-8pm (Masonic Service at 3:30pm) Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where service will be held at 11am Thursday, September 20, 2018. Interment to follow at Mifflin Cemetery. Pastors Tim Swanson and Ron Lokhorst, officiating.
