Ronald Taylor of Columbus, OH passed away July 29, 2022. Ron was born in Youngstown, OH on December 13, 1945.
He grew up in Youngstown and San Diego, CA, where he enjoyed a favorite adventure – cliff diving into the ocean. He served in the US Air Force, and over the years worked at many places, including Youngstown Steel Door, Rotek, and St. Charles School and Church in Boardman, OH, where he was also a parishioner. In 2017, Ron retired from Olentangy Local Schools in Columbus after ten years of service.
Ron volunteered at St. Charles Church and Cardinal Mooney High School, and was active at St. Stephen’s Church in Youngstown as a member of the Holy Name Society. His favorite activities included fishing with his buddies, model trains, photography, and listening to music. Recently, he spent a lot of time feeding the birds and playing with his dog, Mabel. He loved best of all making friends and spending time with his family.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Kacar Taylor and A.C. “Don” Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ramona “Penny” Taylor; his children, Michele (Brian) Lidle of Hilliard, OH, Cara (Kevin) Parker of Reynoldsburg, OH, and Patricia Taylor of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren, Harley Parker of Baltimore, MD, Darius Parker, Chloe Lidle, Trinity Parker, Sophia Lidle, and Gavin Lidle; a sister Denise Carmen of Las Vegas, NV; a dear aunt, Betsy Thompson of Hubbard, OH; four nieces and two nephews.
His Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, August 12, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. Guests will be received from 10:00am to 12 Noon.
