Rosa Ellen Sloan

Rosa Ellen Sloan, age 86, passed away at home on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Rosa was born in Marcus, West Virginia. She graduated from Nicholas County High School. She worked for the State of Ohio as an Administrative Assistant for many years before she became a stay at home mom. She was an active volunteer with her children’s school in the PTA and room mother. She was an amazing cook and kept her house immaculate. Rosa was “Maw” to her neighbors that would often gather at her house. Preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Sloan; parents, Lonnie and Virginia Richardson; great grandchildren, Hope and Elijah Raux. Survived by her children, Duane Sloan (Teresa) and Darlena (James) Kingrey; grandchildren, Heaven (Francis) Raux, James Kingrey II (Melodie), and Stormy Kingrey; great grandchildren, Karma Raux and Haiyzel Kingrey; siblings, Josephine (Don) Travis and Randy (Misty) Richardson; sons she thought of as her own, Tim Pelow and Mike Mollett; longtime caregiver and friend, Wendy Erbst; dear friend, Tabitha Deal; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Advantage Funeral Home by Schoedinger, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204 where funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Richard Jones officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
