

Rose Marie “Rosie” Hogan, age 74, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born January 5, 1936 in Sabina, Ohio to the late James and Nina (Parker) Kelley. After the death of her father, Rosie moved with her mother to Columbus, Ohio. She attended Central High School where she played drums in the Marching Band. In 1953 she married Lloyd Hogan and together they moved to various military bases because of his career in the US Air Force before making their home in Columbus. Rosie retired from the Carousel Lounge after 25 years of service. She was “the best barmaid.” She loved going on picnics with her family, and found enjoyment in the Cincinnati Reds, the OSU Buckeyes, detective shows, and sliders from White Castle. All who knew Rosie will miss her sense of humor and companionship. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Hogan; grandson, Matthew Henson; and brothers, Johnny and James Kelley. Rosie has been a wonderful mom to her children, Vicki Hogan, Cheryl (David) Henson, Michael (Jennifer) Hogan, and Jennifer Hogan; and “Grambo” to 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Rosie’s favorite expression to her family members and friends was “Love Ya Kid!” Her life will be honored in a funeral service at 6 p.m. with visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1 at the SCHOEDINGER LINDEN MEMORIAL CHAPEL 2741 Cleveland Ave.
