Rosemarie Banfield, age 84, previously of Cleveland, Ohio, currently of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Rosemarie was born and raised in St. George's, Grenada, the youngest of 17 children of the late Clarence and Adelle Banfield. Also preceded in death by her siblings, Ossie Layne, George Banfield, Clyde Banfield, Minnie Berger, Mary "Meb" Protain, Malcolm Banfield, Doreen Smith, William Banfield, Gloria Callas, Clarence Banfield, Yvonne Marinelli, Pearl Totten, Patricia McConnie, Rosamund Banfield, and Harold Banfield; and former companion, Ike Ganyard. Rosemarie immigrated to the United States in the early 1950's in hopes for better opportunities, and became a naturalized citizen on September 19, 1980, something she was most proud of. Rosemarie previously worked for The Mike Douglas Show before beginning her successful career in advertising. She retired as an Advertising Executive with Stern Advertising, responsible for the McDonald's accounts in Northeast Ohio and Pennsylvania. Rosemarie was an intelligent, energetic, outgoing woman who was always the life of the party. Strikingly beautiful, Rosemarie had an effervescent smile and penetrating blue eyes that made her hard to be forgotten. She was a master gardener who could never walk by a weed without pulling it and adopted everyone's garden as her own. She also enjoyed interior design, sailing, ballroom dancing and had a love of ballet and theater. She was a member of the North Coast Sailing Singles, longtime volunteer with the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, longtime usher with Playhouse Square, volunteer and supporter of the Fairview Park Ronald McDonald House, and volunteer with the Clintonville Park of Roses. She will be greatly missed by her sister Ailsa Smith, daughters, Michele Cold (Richard Assaf) and Tanya Ash; grandchildren, Katie, Lauren, and Ryan Ash, and Lani, Erin, and Maya Assaf; former husband and lifelong friend, John Cold; and many other extended family members and dear friends. A celebration of Rosemarie's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
