

Rosemary Regina Traubert, age 71, died July 8, 2010 at her home in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 12, 1938 in Wheeling, West Virginia, to the late Arthur T. “Pete” and Bernadette O’Dea Traubert. She grew up in Wellsburg, West Virginia where she attended St. John’s Elementary School and graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1956. Ms. Traubert graduated from the College of St. Mary of the Springs in Columbus, Ohio, in 1960. Following graduation, she taught elementary school in Columbus before going to work for the United States Department of Defense as a teacher. Ms. Traubert taught school to the children of US military personnel at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines from 1966-1967 and at Bitburg Air Force Base in Germany from 1967-1969. Thereafter, she returned to Columbus where she taught elementary school until her retirement in June of 1994. After her retirement, Ms. Traubert volunteered at Mount Carmel East Hospital. She was a member of Christ the King Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling, tole painting, knitting, attending the theater, and spending time with family and friends. Ms. Traubert is survived by her brother, Thomas A. Traubert and his wife, Blanche, her sister, Carolyn T. Zurbuch, and nieces and nephews, Thomas Traubert, Patricia Baum, Denise Traubert, Theresa Edge, Susan Canistraro, Regis E. Traubert, Jr., Jennifer Cain, Jeffrey Zurbuch, Peter G. Zurbuch, and their families. She is also survived by numerous lifelong friends from her days in Germany and her time in the Columbus school system. In addition to her parents, Ms. Traubert was preceded in death by her niece, Mary Beth Traubert, her brother, Regis E. Traubert, her sisters-in-law, Anne Traubert and Joyce M. Traubert, her brother-in-law, Peter E. Zurbuch, and an infant brother, Lawrence Traubert. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2-5 P.M. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Christ the King Church, 2777 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus. Father Craig Eilerman Celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family at Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg, West Virginia.
