

Ruth E. "Bette" Fisher, 94, of Columbus, passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born July 11, 1920 in Port Washington, Ohio to the late Vernon Pope and Helen (nee Kline) and Lorin Johns. Ruth was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years William A. "Bill" Fisher and brother, Lorin "Sonny" Johns. Ruth is survived by children, Polly (Dominic) Policaro, William A. (Patricia) Fisher II., Mary Beth (Charles) Eason; grandchildren, Gina Policaro, Lisa Policaro, Heather (Kenny) Powers, Nickalaus (Rebecca) Freeman and great-grandson, Karson Powers; nieces, Barbara Douthitt and Lori (Michael) Koelbl; nephew, Kenneth (Brenda) Johns; and many friends. Bette was an active member of Parkview United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Young at Heart and Women's Circle. She attended The Ohio State University. Bette enjoyed square dancing with her husband at the UAW #969, reading, crossword and jig saw puzzles. She was known for her love of shopping and eating out. Visitation will be held Friday 4:00-8:00 PM
at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL 3030 W. Broad, Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00AM at Parkview United Methodist Church 344 Algonquin Ave. Columbus, Ohio with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Leo Cunningham will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel West Hospice or Parkview United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
