Ruth Ellen (Mace) Haukedahl

Ruth Ellen (Mace) Haukedahl, age 100 of Columbus, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021. Ruth was born in her family’s farmhouse in Range Township, Ohio, daughter of the late Leslie J. and Freda L. (Pontius) Mace. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley G. Haukedahl; brother, Donald Mace, stepchildren, Sharon Rumachik, Mark Haukedahl, and Reed Haukedahl, and step-grandson, Todd Haukedahl. Ruth graduated from Midway High School in Sedalia, Ohio and attended both Springfield Business School and Bliss College. She retired in 1983 where she worked as a treasurer in accounting for Kight Advertising & Associates. She was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, London Chapter # 386, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, King’s Daughters & Sons, and was also an active volunteer with the Multiple Sclerosis Association. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Carolyn Heath-Blauser; nieces and nephews, Denise (Tim) Londergan, Gary Heath, Mark (Leslie) Heath, Marty (Linda) Mace, and Chris (Cindy) Mace; stepson, Blane (Ardith) Haukedahl; special friend, Joyce Price; many great nieces and nephews, many step-grandchildren; extended family members and dear friends. Per Ruth’s request, family will hold a private graveside service at a later date at Range Township Cemetery. Ruth’s family would like to thank the staff with Wesley Hospice for the wonderful care they gave. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Glenwood United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
